Nickel Wire
Nickel wire is a metal product of a thread-like shape, which is intended for sealing cracks in cast iron products by welding.
Advantages of using nickel wire for welding work:
- no need to use additional additives;
- there is no need to use shielding gas;
- excellent quality of performed works;
- the small diameter of the wire ensures processing of small edges, reducing the investment of heat in the main product, thereby increasing its mechanical characteristics;
- parts to be welded do not necessarily need to be heated.
Nickel wire is most often supplied in an unannealed state.
Application
Excellent mechanical, anti-corrosion characteristics of nickel wire led to its use for welding works in cast iron products, repair of defects in blanks.
PANCH-11 nickel wire was used for semi-automatic and manual welding works on cast iron products, including for the repair of automobile assemblies, as well as for the restoration of cast iron parts. This wire, when welding with an open arc on cold cast iron, ensures the release of fluxing substances, thanks to which welding can be performed without shielding gas. The welding seam created using the PANCH-11 product has high tensile strength and is easily processed with any abrasive device. The tensile strength parameters of the welding seam are equal to 95% of the strength of the main product.
Nickel wire of other brands is used in various fields of science and technology. It is used to manufacture microwave devices in the television and radio engineering field, grids of radio lamps, cathodes, spark plugs for automobile, tractor, and aircraft engines, electrodes in electroplating.
Nickel wire can be used for vacuum sputtering of nickel coatings. Also, the wire is often used in physical and chemical tests, for example, in the form of grids for catalysis.
