Solder VPR-4 is one of the types of self-fluxing copper solders. The use of this solder can ensure that solder joints are reliable, high quality and durable. The use of this solder is necessary for joining stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys.

If the surfaces are heated using high-frequency currents, the use of fluxes and shielding gases is excluded. The basis of the solder is copper, together with it, lithium, potassium, phosphorus, and sodium are included in the composition in smaller quantities, which determine the main physico-chemical and technical characteristics of the product:

  • reduction of the surface energy of soldered metals,
  • guarantee of no surface oxidation,
  • easy removal of oxides, etc. p.

Solder VPR-4 belongs to the category of refractory and heat-resistant solders. The optimal temperature range for using this solder is 990-1040 degrees. At the same time, it is worth noting that the melting point of the product varies from 950 to 960 degrees (it may be higher or lower depending on the manufacturer).

Soldering works using this solder can be carried out in a normal atmosphere using high-frequency rapid heating without the use of flux, as well as in a neutral atmosphere (in melting furnaces with argon and helium). In addition, it is allowed to use solder in a vacuum environment and in a gaseous flux atmosphere.

Solder is also used for soldering products with particularly thin walls, because when using this solder there is no dissolution of base metals. Manufacturers produce solder in the form of rods, wire and in many other forms (different manufacturers – different forms), so everyone can choose the appropriate form of the product for carrying out certain soldering works on an industrial or domestic scale.
