Welding of products made of copper and its alloys is carried out by manual and semi-automatic electric arc welding methods using special fluxes or inert gases. The electrodes used for welding copper can be of several types: non-melting tungsten for argon arc electric welding; coal (graphite) for manual arc welding under flux; melting metal for manual and semi-automatic electric welding.

Metal burners are used for manual or semi-automatic electric arc welding. They are metal covering rods made of copper, bronze or brass alloys. Alloying additives can be added to their composition, on which the price of electrodes for copper welding depends. Welded wire is used for semi-automatic machines. In addition, a flux protective mixture can be used during welding operations, which improves the strength and quality of the welding seam.

When choosing the diameter of the electrode or wire for copper welding, it is necessary to take into account the thickness of the workpieces, the shape of the products themselves and their edges. As a general rule, the diameter of the electrode rod should be equal to the thickness of the parts to be welded or exceed it by no more than 1 mm.
