ARMCO Bar
Electrical steel is a thin sheet steel used in the production of magnetic cores for electrical equipment such as electromagnets, transformers, generators, electric motors, chokes, relays, stabilizers, and so on.
This sheet magnetic-soft alloy possesses valuable characteristics. It is used to manufacture cores for electrical equipment:
- electric motors,
- generators,
- transformers,
- stabilizers,
- chokes,
- relays.
The amount of silicon in ARMCO steel depends on the required level of magnetic properties. Aluminum can be included as an alloying addition, with its content ranging up to 0.5%.
Depending on the production technology, steel 10880 is divided into:
- hot-rolled,
- cold-rolled, calibrated (cold rolling or drawing from hot-rolled steel).
The hardness of hot-rolled sheet metal from ARMCO steel is HB 10 -1 = 131 MPa.
The tensile strength of hot-rolled steel is 270 MPa. The temporary resistance to rupture of calibrated rolled steel is 1.3 times better, measuring 350 MPa.
At the same time, in the first type, the relative elongation after breaking is 6 times greater and is 24%. And in the latter – only 6%.
The weldability of such material is not limited. Welding of this type of steel is done without heating and subsequent heat treatment.
