Solder

Alloys with a low melting point, which are used for soldering, are called solders. They are divided into soft and hard. Soft ones melt at temperatures up to 300 degrees. The base of the solder can be silver, tin, nickel, lead, copper, cadmium. Solder pastes are used in electronics.

Solders are alloys for soldering at high and low temperatures. For work with solid solders, a gas burner is used, which gives a temperature of 450°С. An ordinary soldering iron is sufficient for working with soft solder. Solders can be low-melting, super-low-melting and refractory. Solders can be produced in the form of solders, foil, paste, wire, granules and powder.

The positive properties of solders include:

• strength combined with plasticity;
• high coefficient of thermal conductivity;
• corrosion resistance.
